A few years ago I started to write a show about a strip club.

I never cracked the story and I got too busy when I was hired to write on a different show, so I abandoned “Not Safe For Work” (the title of my half-baked pilot).*

It seemed that every stripper I interviewed was a better trend forecaster than any finance bro or marketing exec. And in the public consciousness, strip clubs are generally linked to the health of the economy.

Even though I never finished the script, I did befriend three amazing women who shared with me their experiences.

One of the most interesting things I learned during my chats with them (aside from how to walk in ridiculously high heels, aka “pleasers”) was this: the rules they play by largely remain the same. That’s because money, much like gravity or other laws of quantum physics, is a natural force. It obeys a certain set of laws. So no matter what your job is or how you earn your money, seek to understand it.

Here are some of the best money lessons I learned from the women I talked to. If you apply them, you’ll be one step closer to becoming financially wealthy.

And you won’t even have to take off your clothes.
